Music Ministry News
Please look for the our table in Friendship Square on Sunday, August 22 & 29 and sign up for your favorite Bethany music ensemble. You may also sign up via email: cmcdaniel@bethanylutheran.org or by phone (562)421-4711, ext. 14.
Our Senior Choir (for adults age 18 and up) begins Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 7:30PM. The choir will also meet the Thursday prior, Thursday, September 2, for one hour to prepare an anthem for a special Baptism on Sunday, September 5 at the 10:55AM service.
Watch the Sunday morning Chimes and look for a note from the individual directors for exact start-up dates for advanced adult handbells, and intermediate adult handbells. We're also interested in instrumentalists and soloists.
There is a sign-up sheet for our wonderful Bethany Lutheran School choirs as well, and more information about the Music Academy, the Roscoe Band, the Handbell and Choral programs will be available during the first few weeks of classes.
St. Paul reminds us in his letter to the Ephesians:

MUSIC MINISTRY INFORMATION:
Senior Choir is off to a grand start with over 86 names on the roster. This is one of the largest groups in recent history…and we are particularly thankful to have so many new Bethany members as a part of the group. Kevin Bowers continues to be our faithful accompanist!
Power Sundays (for Celebrate! and High School Handbells) We have a good number of youth participating, but there is always room for more. For more information on High School Youth Music Ministry see the Celebrate! and High School Handbells link on this website or contact Dr. Carol McDaniel at ext. 14.
Our Handbell Choirs continue to ring praises on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. This eyar we have 3 school bells groups and 2 school hand chime groups. In addition to Carol McDaniel's direction, we are happy to have Ellen Pratt and Dr. Mary Fink helping with this program.
Sound Technicians are needed We will happily allow you to "apprentice" with an experience technician...and give you plenty of time to learn. Please call Carol McDaniel in the church office if you are interested.
The Music Academy We offer piano in grades 2-8, and voice and organ instruction in grades 7-8. If interested in joining, we may still have room, and would be happy to pro-rate your semester tuition based on the actual number of lessons.
