Entrance Requirements

Parent Handbook (pdf document_

Bethany Lutheran School is maintained primarily for the families of our church. If space is limited, the children of members have priority up to August 1. Secondly, siblings of currently enrolled children have a priority up to August 1. However, once a child is accepted into our school, they are never asked to leave to make room for a child of one of our Bethany families. Those children are accepted whose parents are sincerely interested in quality Christian education and who are willing to submit to the rules of our school. Students who have attended another school and wish to transfer to Bethany Lutheran School must present proof of successful completion of the previous grade as well as authorization for us to receive a transcript from the previous school. All enrollments apply to one year only and must be renewed each year.

Kindergarten
Children enrolling in our kindergarten must be five (5) years of age by September 1. Those who will turn 5 after September 1 must have a letter of recommendation as to their readiness for kindergarten from the Director of an accredited preschool or child care facility, and they will be given a kindergarten readiness pretest by our school.

Grades 1-8
All new applicants for grades 1-8 will be pretested to assess their academic level so they can receive proper placement in our school. Children enrolling in first grade must have completed an accredited kindergarten course and must have had a complete physical examination within the previous year.

For their first six weeks in our school, all students are on a probation basis while we evaluate their needs, attitudes, and placement after which some changes may need to be made. Bethany School is not equipped to serve as a disciplinary school or a school for children with severe neurological, emotional, and/or academic problems.

Non-Discrimination

Bethany Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, sex, age, disability, or national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, disability, or national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
