Bethany Lutheran School

Christian Education For A Lifetime

Why Bethany?

We have an excellent developmental program, fully accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation commission of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We have a 41 year tradition of excellent early childhood education.

The right education gives your child an advantage throughout life, so choosing your child’s school may be one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. At Bethany Lutheran Preschool, your child will receive more than academic excellence and a whole-child approach. In every setting, we reinforce the same values and character qualities you teach at home, helping your children learn to live a life honoring the Lord Jesus Christ.

Satisfied Customers

Bethany Lutheran Preschool was the first place we trusted to leave our newly adopted children with...the staff was loving and made me feel good about that decision everyday they went there. Still 5 years later we are in touch with some of the fantastic teachers that taught my kids.

Sandra Grace Ballard

We enrolled our daughter, Lizzy, after a friend recommended Bethany Preschool to us, and we are so thankful we did! Bethany is safe and clean, and provides students with a positive learning environment. Lizzy learned so much from the wonderful teachers, and best of all she was surrounded by people who are so loving and caring. What more could parents ask for!

Bethany Lutheran pre-school is top notch. The staff is very nurturing and experienced. They deeply care about each child. The leadership (Nola Seaman, Director) is strong and the facilities are very clean, organized, and nice. I knew my daughter was in great hands at Bethany . We toured several pre schools and this one "just felt right." It lived up to my expectations and thensome. Mrs Padias and Teacher Karen are angels--they make each child feel special and nurtured. If you are seeking a Christ centered pre-school with stability of staff--this is the place. We have moved to another school and will deeply miss Bethany but plan to stay in touch with all of the amazing staff.

Karol Johansen

Bethany Parent for Pre-K (2008-2010)

We were very pleased at how my children incorporate the love of God and the examples of Jesus. This is so beautiful and meaningful to us. We all say grace together and daily prayers and the children have learned greater understanding of what it means to live a Christian life in our society. They sing songs together and bring home lovely projects that represent their appreciation of life, family, and holidays. They have learned and understand the pledge of allegiance to the flag, have started basic reading, enjoy many different experiences with other children, and really love going to school! They so enjoyed going to Chapel and spending time with their 6th grade "buddies”. We want to thank everyone who works in this Pre-School for all of the love, support, kindness, and education you have given to our children and to us as a family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and may God bless you always.

Admissions Policy

Bethany Lutheran Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to the students. Discrimination based on race, color, sex, age, disability, or national origin is prohibited. We will accept most agency assisted financial programs.

Enrollment is open to children who are between the ages of 2 and 5.  A child may be enrolled after a parent/Director interview to determine the child’s readiness for preschool.

We do not require two year old children to be potty trained. We change wet diapers or pull-ups several times each day; and we change bowel movements immediately. Our teachers and their assistants communicate with parents regarding the child’s readiness for potty training. When the child appears to be almost ready, we will remind him or her to try to go potty every half hour or so.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Your school is called “Bethany Lutheran.” What is a “Lutheran” anyway?

A: “Lutherans” are Christians who respond to the love of the Triune God...Father, Son and Holy Spirit...who has revealed Himself through the Bible. ;“Lutherans” accept and teach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone. We are affiliated with the Pacific Southwest District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Q. I am not Lutheran.  May my child attend your school?

A: You do not have to be Lutheran to attend our school. Bethany Lutheran School has students from many faith backgrounds, although approximately half of our students are also members of Bethany Lutheran Church. If you do not have a church home and are seeking one, we encourage you to consider Bethany.

Q:  How many students attend the preschool?
A:  We are licensed for 75 children per day.  We have six classrooms.

Q:  What are the pre-school’s hours?

A:  Children enrolled for part-day arrive at 8:30 am and leave at 12:00 noon.  We open at 6:30 am and close at 6:00 pm for full-day students.

Q:  What is the teacher/student ratio?
A:  Our younger classrooms typically have a ratio of 1:4-1:6 during the instructional portion of the day.  TK and our older 3's have a 1:7.5 ratio and Pre-K has a 1:9 ratio.  We also have floating assistants who are in the classrooms when needed.

Q:  Which classroom or age group will my child be in?
A:  Students are placed in the classroom that is appropriate for their age.  Typically, it is based on the child’s chronological age (on September 1st) and developmental needs.

Q:  Do the children wear uniforms?
A:  No.  We encourage the children to wear comfortable clothing that can be easily laundered because we engage in lots of messy play.
