Confirmation is a two-year process for our junior high students in 7th and 8th grades. Classes are offered on Sunday mornings, 9:15-10:30AM. Contact our Minister of Discipleship, Karl Fink for more information at kfink@bethanylutheran.org or call his office at (562) 421-4711, ext. 19.
Year 1 Parent Meeting:
On Monday, February 6, 7:00PM I held our first parent meeting regarding the various jobs/responsibilities that need to be carried out by our Year 1 class for Confirmation weekend (April 14-15).
If you were unable to attend the meeting on Feb. 6th you will be receiving a phone call from Mrs. Linnea Fields, one of our Year 1 parents, to plug you into one of the committee teams. Please click on the link at the end of this article to see what each committees responsibilities are for this wonderful weekend in April. Once all the committees are formed, look for an email with the final sign up, so that you can coordinate details among yourselves.
We will have a follow-up meeting on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 7:00PM for some of these committees to see how the planning is going.

Junior High District Youth Gathering:
The annual PSD Junior High Youth Gathering is scheduled for the weekend of March 2-4, 2012. The gathering this year is a camp setting at Thousand Pines Christian Camp & Conference Center. The theme is DIS\KINECT and is based on John 15:1-17. Click on both forms to download, completely fill these out and turn in with fee to Mr. Fink.

- Cost is $175; checks are payable to Bethany Lutheran Church.
- BOTH forms and money need to be turned into Karl Fink by January 29, 2012.
- One parent chaperone is needed for every 5 youth attending and there is no cost for you (the parent) to come. Contact Karl if you are able to help (kfink@bethanylutheran.org).
- Year 1 Class meets in Room 215 (Multipurpose Room) with Dr. Mary Fink
