Gifts For The King:
The Advent Season is here and the Discipleship Board is initiating our annual "Gifts For The King" fund raising campaign. So start saving your extra change for those little blue and gold boxes which the ushers will be handing out on the first Sunday of Advent. (We will of course accept as many checks or bills you are moved to contribute.) The Board of Discipleship has selected two organizations to donate all funds this year:
- The Global Seminary Initiative of the LCMS- The Global Seminary Initiative (GSI) serves a unique role in proclaiming the Gospel to all nations. GSI equips and supports international partner church pastors and future leaders through sound theological education, beginning with the scriptural and confessional view of the Office of the Ministry and of the Church.
- Operation Barnabas of the LCMS - The three main goals of Operation Barnabas are: 1) Care for Reserve chaplains and their families and congregations (Including our own Chaplain Pastor Ray Ayers). 2) Train and assist local congregations in the care, support and outreach to all military connected people in their congregations and their communities. 3) Serve as a resource to other organizations that provide care to military connected people.
All contributions will be collected on Epiphany Sunday, January 6, 2019. If you won't be at church that Sunday, your contributions can be turned in at the church office any time prior to the due date. We all thank you in advance for your generosity. You can pick up your offering boxes anytime in the Narthex.
