COVID-19: A Letter to Parents

Bethany Parents,
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Out of an abundance of caution for our Bethany families as well as the broader Long Beach community, Bethany Lutheran School and Preschool will be moving to online instruction beginning next week in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  While the risk to children is thought to be low, moving to online instruction will help reduce further cases that could strain our healthcare system.

Our plan is to utilize online instruction for two weeks (through March 27,)  but to continue monitoring the situation and communicating with families if we need to extend the end date. We will use these two weeks to continue to provide excellent Christian education, but also to deep-clean our campus in order to ensure a healthy environment when our students return. We will be sending additional communication about how online instruction will be structured/accessed.  Please watch for that communication later today.

We realize this decision will make childcare difficult for some of you.  While we cannot provide care on our campus, Bethany is a FAMILY and we encourage you to reach out to each other for responsible/healthy support.
Thank you for your continued prayers. Please continue to monitor your e-mail and the Bethany website for further updates.

Blessed to serve at Bethany,
Dr. Fink
