University A Cappella Choir

Concordia University Nebraska’s University A Cappella Choir will be traveling west on their spring Pacific Southwest concert tour. They will be at Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday, March 11th at 7:00PM. The choir will sing a variety of choral works including compositions by J.S. Bach, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Gerald Finzi, David von Kampen, Moses Hogan, Norman Luboff, and others.
Concordia University’s A Cappella Choir has been performing concerts and joining congregations in worship for over 87 years. One of the United States’ oldest touring Lutheran collegiate choirs, the University A Cappella Choir has performed throughout the U.S. and internationally.
The 72-voice choir is chosen by audition and is comprised of majors from most academic disciplines, representing many states and some foreign countries. Over 180 students audition each fall for the internationally renowned concert choir. Join us for this special evening on the 11th!

The Bethany Choir - Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30PM. This choir is open to all ages: high school, college, and adult. Kevin Bowers continues to be our faithful accompanist! Click on the link below for more Bethany Choir information and schedule.
Adult Handbell Choirs - We continue to ring praises; our rehearsals are normally on Monday (Crescendo Handbell Choir) and Thursday (Jubilate Handbell Choir) evenings. Click on the link below for more information regarding the Handbell Choirs.
Sound Technicians are needed. We will happily allow you to "apprentice" with an experienced technician...and give you plenty of time to learn. Please call the church office, (562) 421-4711, if you are interested.
Instrumentalists/Musicians/Singers - are always welcome to share their talents with us during the year. Please speak with our music ministry team if you have leadership ability especially with percussion, brass, string, or wind instruments. Notify the office of your current email, phone, and instruments with which you are proficient.
The Music Academy - We offer piano instruction (grades 2-8), clarinet lessons (grades 4-high school), and trumpet lessons (grades 4-8). If interested in joining, please speak to Mara Widmann (ext. 55) in the church office or email her at .
